First of all, I’d like to briefly introduce those of you who are not familiar with the world of creative enterprise to Kickstarter.
Kickstarter is this great site where anyone, your grandma, your weed dealer, that girl you almost lost your virginity to, anyone can donate a little bit of money to fund someone’s dream.
The dream must be a creative project such as a film. If the dream is funded by its deadline the dream-maker gets it all. If it’s not funded to meet its goal by the deadline, no one is charged and the dream-maker is not penalized; he just gets no $$$
I plan on covering this in my next article but for now, consider funding the dream of a wonderful man who has everything it takes to make a truly beautiful film, Blood is Thicker. His campaign will allow him to create an amaze-balls trailer which will land him the right investor, a testament to the new power in social media business structure. The story sounds riveting and the story behind it sounds even better. It’s beautiful and born from truth. Knowledge is power and may someday translate into action. I hope a film like this can do that, which means I want to see it made!
